3 Stages in Leadership Developments

1 Redemption

An authentic experience one goes through to become wholly and totally dependent on God's righteousness to find one's identity in God and His son Jesus Christ

 

Isaiah 1:18

“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Ephesians 1:7

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace

 

  • Past (Events)

    • Whatever your past may be, God can handle it, and His son paid for it on the cross. God has forgiven your sins, and you are a new creation. God calls you new. Your past does not define who you are. He calls you righteous because of what His son did on the cross, and through the resurrection.

    • When we trust in God's redemption, we can be free from mistakes and errors we have done. The devil will continue to call you the names from the past, and whispers the wrongs that took place in your past. But when we trust the cross, we can be free, and the true identity in God will be found.

  • Prejuice (how to react/perceive/understand/assess situation)

    • There were reasons why you had been the way you had been. Our thought process and perspective do not change automatically even though your sins were forgiven instantly.

    • We need to have God's way to see things as they are. What we'd seen was not the reality. We need to change the way we see, feel, assess, process, and think.

  • Punishing patterns (Actions/thoughts/Feelings)

    • Like working out, the first work-out session will not make you healthy or stronger. And you need to break out from the bad habits. What are the reasons that keep you making the same mistakes? What are the problems that keep you in troubles? We need to first know what they are, and tackle them to be free from them. The past is events that took place in the past with negative influence and impact in your life. The punishing patterns are thoughts and actions you repeat that keep you at the same spot - keeping you from moving forward.

 

 

2 Restoration

When the three characteristics/values are absent in one's life, he or she may never become the leader that God has planned even before the foundation of the earth. These are to be restored and maintained by relentless pursuit in one's life to fulfill the call of the leadership.

 

Lamentations 3:21-23

Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

 

  • Holiness

    • By Pursuing Godly Characters

    • By Making Godly Choices

    • By Becoming God's Child

    • Recognizing God's faithfulness leads us to God's holiness. When we are far away from God, we think God has nothing to do with our life, but when we finally notice and recognize God's faithfulness, we are amazed how actively and intentionally God's hands were holding us, and providing for us, protecting us and so on. Faithfulness is like invitation to God's holiness.

      • Lamentations 3:20-23

 

  • Humility

    • Pride, you throw it away; Diginity, you guard it.

    • By understanding

      • the PRICE Christ paid on the cross

      • the POSITION God has placed you

      • the PURPOSE God has set for your life

      • John 13: 3-5 (NLT)

      • 3 Jesus knew that the Father had given him authority over everything and that he had come from God and would return to God. 4So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him.

  • Honor

 

 

 

 

 

3 Reproduction

Life of the leader is a life long journey and it's about God and people around you (in other words, it's never about you). Leadership is a process, and you continue to learn and try. Leadership is about change - changes you experience in life, and changes you help bring about in people's lives. Through Redemption and Restoration, you are being shaped and trained to become the leader God has designed for you. Now, your goals is to help others to become a leader like you've become through the following three steps.

 

Matthew 28:19

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,

Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind

  • Enhancement

    • You need to keep growing. One common denominator among great leaders is that they all are learner. Howard Hendricks at Dallas Seminary said (in paraphrasing) "You will become in 5 year books you read, people you spend time with, and risks you are taking"

    • Use resources, EQ, StrengthFinder, anything that can help you one step at a time, one day at a time.

  • Empowerment

    • ​Now that you've become a strong leader, you need to give back, be a blessing to others more than how you're blessed.​
    • Be intentional reaching out
    • Be strategic on how you engage
    • Be persistent as you try. At first, people may show interests in your story, but it is a completely differnt animal, different game when you step into their boundary/comfort zone to be positive force in their life. Expect resistence, and lack of commitment and opennes are given in the beginning. And pull through until the end, until they also become a redeemed leader. 
  • Evangelization

    • This is what it all boils down.

As I grow in faith in Christ, I see more of God's heart and become aware of His focus. No doubt He loves me so much and wants the best for my life. I believe that the flood gate of heaven soon will continue to open in all aspect of my life.

But at the same time, I sense more and more the profound desire in the center of God's heart towards the lost, the love and wanting to reach out those who are not in His presence at all cost.

I want to join Him in bringing them to His son. This is one deepest calling I can have from God when my heart is unconditionally on Him.​
